It’s official. J has a ruptured tendon in her poor little frail wrist and is facing surgery in the next few days. Dr. Bones said cortisone won’t help and that it will eventually get worse. She seems unaffected by the news. I, however, worry enough for both of us. I will know more after Wednesday at her preoperative visit, but I suspect my youngest is in for spending the lion’s share of her summer in a cast.
As a healthcare professional who has witnessed all manner of medical hell, I thought I had seen it all. Even though J’s injury may not seem to be all that comparatively speaking, it IS all that because she is MY daughter. Only a parent would understand that, I think.
In any case, I have something new to worry about :).

Yup, even the smallest injury to one of my kids affects me. I know how you feel. I hope J heals quickly!
